Why do solar panels need shielding from birds? Mainly because the yield of the panels is reduced when the ventilation underneath is obstructed by branches and nesting material. The warmer the panels get the lower the efficiency. It also protects the birds, stopping them getting caught in the wiring amongst other things.
The Deks range of Solar Flashings are purpose made durable solutions as required by MCS and the professional choice for flashing cables on tile, slate or metal roofs.
This product has the acrylic coated lead base which is ideal for plain tile or slate roofs.
Easy to fit, no maintenance, 20 years warranty and over 50 years experience from Deks Solardek flashings.
These heavy-duty 200mm hanger bolts are suitable for fixing mounting rail to metal or corrugated cement roofs with steel supports, and come supplied with EPDM seal and two nuts, as well as a substantial steel or aluminium L-bracket. The bracket locks between the upper two nuts and is height adjustable.
The mounting rails are the core of the system. For each row of panels, a pair of rails is mounted horizontally on the roof and supported by rook hooks at no more than 1.2m intervals. The distance between the rails should be around three-quarters of the panel height. The panels are then laid on the rails and clamped in place with the end and mid clamps.
For long rows, simply join lengths of rail using the rail splice kits. Rails can be cut to length with a hacksaw or grinder.
These aluminium plates allow for the easy installation of solar panels onto slate roofs. The plates sit on top of the slate tiles and are fastened above the battens/rafter.
The Fastensol plastic tray can be extended using their mini 140mm rail. This allows panels of widths of up to 1140mm to be mounted in landscape configuration using these Fastensol trays.
Kit Includes:
1x Fastensol Plastic Tray
4 x 140mm Mini RailThis kit does not include:
Fastensol aluminium end clamps (4 per tray)
When fixing the 4x 140mm mini rails, you will need to drill additional holes on the side of the plastic trays. Please note that a lower ballast weight than the minimum weight on the datasheet can be used if stated by the ballast calculator
These substantial stainless steel brackets are used to secure the mounting rails to the roof beams. These are suitable for pan tile and concrete tiled roofs only.
To fit, a few tiles are removed from the outside of the roof and the hook secured to a rafter pointing 'downhill' with the tek screws provided. Plywood padding can be used to ensure the correct spacing from the tile surface. The tiles are simply replaced around the hook ensuring a weatherproof finish.
These standing seam roof hooks can be used to secure the mounting rails to the standing seams on a roof, with a "bulb" or "concealed" seam type.
You can then attach whatever you wish onto the hole on the top of the clamp.
Currently we do not have a solution in stock to attach this to Fastensol rails.

2022 NEW VERSION - This version is compatible with ALL GSE trays - old and new.
Black side flashing piece for GSE roof integrated solar PV installations.
Please use the GSE calculator to see how many flashing pieces you require, or allow for sufficient to cover the sides your array(s).
Ref: ALUNÂ ART104644 LATERAL FLASHING - UNIVERSAL - 1290MM
The top flashings are not normally required in the UK as the tiles can overlap the top of the GSE frames. The top flashing is a useful option if positioning restrictions or the nature of your roof tiles mean that they do not overlap the top of the GSE frames far enough. Supplied in black to match the rest of the system.
Black end clamps for fixing solar panels onto GSE roof integrated solar PV frames.Important - please specify the size of clamp that you need using the drop down box above. For each clamp you will also need a screw and washer for clamp fixing, an EPDM seal and a structural plastic block. Also referred to in the manual as a simple / single clampPlease specify which size clamp you need from the drop down box. 50mm clamps are also available on request.
This is the box base for the GSE ground mount system. 2 of these are required for up to 4 panels, with an additional one needed for every 2 additional panels.
Part number:Â ART102866
This 'L shaped' corner piece joins the front and side bases together and has a fixed length of 550mm, for the lower side of the mounting rail. 2 of these are needed per box base. This means that 4 fixed 'L' corner pieces are required for up to 4 panels, with an additional 2 pieces needed for every 2 additional panels.
NEW PRODUCT RANGE - 2022 GSE trays are different to the usual - please take the time to read the manual and understand, and ensure you're using Easy-PV or the GSE configurator to ensure the correct trays are selected.NEW LATERAL FLASHING - there is also a new lateral flashing for the 2022 range of trays. The older flashing will not work on these trays, however the new flashing works with all trays in the GSE range - old and new.
GSE's 2022 additions to the range now cover the latest tranche of larger solar PV modules, widening the net for compatibility. These new products have evolved from the 2012 and 2022 versions and are now delivered in two physical parts per module, rather than one. This listing is just for one half.
Short versions of the GSE screw (38mm instead of 60mm). This is to be used when fixing GSE frames/trays to the roof when counter-battening hasn't been used.
This is increasingly common in the UK, and using this shorter screw prevents the risk of screwing through a single batten and into the roof felt.
The product eliminates the problem on Rosemary tiled roofs of installers standing on the mounting rail and the downward flexing of the roof hook, cracking the roof tile.
Manufactured with recycled rubber.
The K2 Dome 6.10 Peak clips into the dome base set to provide a 10 degree panel pitch. When used with the express dome no tools are necessary for installation of this part as it simply clips into place.
K2 Dome Black End Clamps secure the solar panels to the K2 dome base set and dome peak, and are used at the ends of the row of panels.
These end clamps are adjustable and are able to fit solar panels with a 30-50mm frame thickness.
The K2 Dome FixPro L is a key part of the interface between the dome base set and the integrated roof anchor. This part is screwed in to dome base set using an M8 bolt and MK2 clip and attaches to the K2 Climber to facilitate an anchored conenction to the rest of the roof.
The Dome FixPro is compatible with modules from 1617-2392mm long, making it compatible with the vast majority of panels on the market.
The K2 Dome Speed Porter is the simplest way to install ballast tiles on to the K2 Dome Base Set.
A pair of speed porters should be used wherever ballast is installed on the K2 Dome Base Set.
Each pair of trays can support up to 40kg and are simply placed over the K2 Dome Base Set.
The K2 SingleRail 36, 3300mm rail is the core of the SingleRail system. Quick and low-cost with direct lateral connections to the rail including customised height adjustment.
The SingleRail mounting system for photovoltaic assemblies is suitable for roofing with pan tiles and corrugated fibre cement or corrugated sheet metal. The roof fastening is done using roof hooks or hanger bolts.
Lengths of rail can be joined together using rail splice kits to create longer rows. Rails can also be cut to length with a hacksaw or grinder.
These stainless steel roof hooks are used to secure the mounting rails to the roof beams for flat tile roofing, really popular on the newer build properties with the thicker grey interlocking flat tiles, as its only 2mm thick then it saves the need to grind the upper tiles.
The stainless steel bracket is fixed through one tile to the rafter beneath. The tile above is replaced above the fixings, so that the roof remains weather-tight.
This mounting is attached in accordance with BS EN 490. With pre-assembled K2 Climber 36/50 and Allen bolt for K2 SingleRail mounting. Material: Stainless steel (1.4301)
